Don't you just hate it when that drop-dead gorgeous 65/66 Mustang of yours won't start? Or when you turn on the radio and the turn signals start flashing? If you have any questions that you think I might be able to help you with, or, if I have posted something that still doesn't seem to be as clear as it could be, please feel free to ask.
The 65 wiring diagrams are a great help. I have a 66 set and one of the diagrams shows the instrument cluster out of the dash and all the wires going into the back. Is there an equivalent diagram for the 64.5/65?
Hi, Steve. I haven't made that one yet, but I will. It's actually pretty much the same, except for the turn signal indicator is only one bulb with two wires going into a socket, the alt/gen light is like that also, unless it's a later 65 and came with either pony interior or the GT package. The 66s have two wires plugging into the back of the gauge, while the 65s don't have any wires actually plugged into the ammeter gauge. There's a metal loop sticking out of the back of the gauge and the fat black wire with a yellow stripe, which is the main power feed, passes through that loop. The gas gauge and temp gauge are wired the same as a 66.
